Yesterday, several of our seniors got to go cruisin’ through the streets of Winder thanks to volunteer Kelly Brown Mitchell!
They had a blast! 😊🚙

This right here is everything. 💜
A few weeks ago, we had to say goodbye to Sam Elliott, Rihanna’s other half. As our hearts were breaking over the loss of Sam, we were also worried and heartbroken for Rihanna who was literally attached to his hip. She watched over him 24/7 as he was declining. Fast forward to a few weeks later, once Iain was back at the cabin and recovering from his surgery. Sweet Rihanna jumped right on in and has become his bunk mate and caregiver. She has just the sweetest, most nurturing spirit. And Iain is loving stepping up to the plate and helping to heal her heart with their friendship and allowing her to take care of him. 💜
You didn’t think we’d let Tongue Out Tuesday pass by, did you?
Little Meryl Streep was showing off her best tongue pose, and then decided she wanted a full on photo shoot! She truly is our feistiest firecracker in the bunch...in her eyes (see what we did there?) there’s no disability here! In fact, this girl is more in tune with what is going on than some of our dogs with their eyesight! Her ears, nose and whiskers tell her all she needs to know and she keeps all of us in check...including her other feisty counterpart, Vivien (our “fluffy” chihuahua, who will not let us use the term “chunky”)! 🤣🐾
As we close out the 2020 year at the stroke of midnight tonight, we wanted to take a moment to spotlight the 13 seniors we were able to save and provide a loving, safe home to for the rest of their days at our senior dog sanctuary. We know 2020 has been a hard year for most on many different levels, but for these 13 dogs it was life changing in the best of ways. 2020 provided them with hope, purpose, security, a warm roof over their heads, full bellies, and most of all, love. 💜
Thank you to all of you who have followed along on our journey, supported us, purchased items from our wishlists, and helped with monetary donations. Literally every dollar helps and counts and we are so grateful for every single one. Take a look at each one these faces...and know that you all are a huge part of making the rest of their days their best days. 💜 🐾
We hope you enjoy Kiefer’s message! This boy gives Norbert a run for his money! 😍
We have exactly one day left in 2020...and exactly one more day to receive Aunty Pen’s latest book for free! Head over to our website to get your downloadable copy at www.frankieandandysplace.org.
If there’s ever a doubt that there isn’t a magical, healing quality about this little senior sanctuary we have nestled in the woods...take a look at our sweet Olivia. Here she is in the first picture, right after she came to us. Horrific skin issues and a large mass amongst other health and emotional issues. When you are constantly overlooked at the shelter by potential adoptees and unwanted, you’d feel the same. Then fast forward a couple months later in the second picture, and you will see a happy Olivia, skin issues under control, and a dog full of life, playfulness and a love for her senior friends and human volunteers.
Folks, this is living proof that with love, care, good food, supplements and positive energy, this girl’s life was saved. She is truly living life and quite possibly for the first time in her life.
If you’ve ever wondered where/how Frankie and Andy’s Place donations and funds are used...exactly this! Physically, medically and emotionally saving dogs like Olivia and providing them with what they need to live a quality, meaningful life, for however long they may have left on this earthly world.

We are just absolutely in love with these beautiful, hand painted ornaments of our seniors made by one of our wonderful supporters, Neely Pratt!
As many of you know, our dogs are named after a famous person by our volunteers. On one side of the ornament there is a hand painted picture of the dog and on the back a quote from their famous namesake.
Thank you, Neely...we treasure these beautiful ornaments and hang them on our trees in the cabins every year! 🎄💜
Many of you have asked how Meemaw is doing...Well, as you can see from these pictures, Meemaw is feeling far better! And thanks to a very special lady, Bonnie Strelec Mullins with FABB, a group that make special prayer blankets, she is toasty warm and has been feeling all the prayers and well wishes! 💜
Her visit to the vets proved that she has heartworms, as we suspected, but also that she has laryngeal paralysis, which was making it very hard for her to breathe. She has begun a regimen of drugs for this and is already breathing easier and feeling more comfortable! This, combined with some good, fresh food and exceptional levels of care from our knowledgeable team, means that Meemaw finally has a fighting chance.
If you'd like to learn about some of the ways we give the best possible life to our senior dogs, then, boy, do we have a gift for you!
