Teams from the naval bases in Varna and Burgas (on the Black Sea) carried out four new missions involving the reconnaissance and transport of unmanned aerial vehicles and their debris on Wednesday afternoon, the Defence Ministry said in a press release. Earlier in the day, the Ministry reported of similar missions.

A specialized team from the Varna Naval Base carried out a mission to reconnoiter and identify an unmanned aerial vehicle located at sea, 2.6 nautical miles northeast of Cape Galata. Following a dive inspection, it was determined that the drone’s nose section, containing the engine, was submerged; no explosive material was found; and a small portion of the tail was protruding above the water. Due to deteriorating hydro-meteorological conditions, the drone was towed to the Varna Naval Base, where it was retrieved from the water, the Ministry specified.

In the afternoon, two other teams from the Varna Naval Base identified and transported to the base debris from the drone’s fuselage, found on a beach in the Kabakum area near the city of Varna, as well as a drone wing spotted at the Golden Sands resort, at the Laguna campground.

The report of debris from a crashed drone that had washed ashore in the Kabakum Beach area was received around 1:30 a.m., the Varna Regional Directorate of the Interior said earlier on Wednesday. Border Police officers were dispatched to the scene.

A specialized team from the Burgas Naval Base also carried out a mission to investigate and identify an unmanned aerial vehicle found on the northern beach of Burgas. On site, military officers established that the object in question was a drone's wing. They transported to the naval base.

The specialised teams operated following an order from the Chief of Defence and instruction from the Commander of the Bulgarian Navy, the Ministry said.

The Bulgarian Navy carried out missions involving the reconnaissance and destruction of unmanned aerial vehicles, the press centre of the Defence Ministry said Wednesday.

A specialised team from the Naval Base in Varna was tasked with locating and identifying an unmanned aerial vehicle. It was found on the seashore in the Kabakum area near the city of Varna, Northeastern Bulgaria. A reconnaissance operation established that the drone contained no explosive material. It was transported to the Naval Base in Varna.

Another Navy team was tasked with investigating an object spotted in the waters of the Black Sea near Pomorie, Southeastern Bulgaria. Military personnel established that the object was an unmanned aerial vehicle and destroyed it at sea, strictly observing safety measures.

Military personnel from the Naval Base in Varna also carried out a mission to locate and identify an unmanned aerial vehicle found in the Black Sea waters in the Pasha Dere area, south of Varna. The object was examined and also destroyed at sea.

A specialised team from the Naval Base in Varna was tasked Tuesday evening with locating and identifying an unmanned aerial vehicle spotted in the Black Sea waters in the area of the Kamchia resort. After examining the object, the team established that it was a wing from a military drone that had been washed ashore by the sea and contained no ammunition. The drone wing posed no danger and was transported to the Naval Base in Varna.

The specialised teams operated following an order from the Chief of Defence and instruction from the Commander of the Bulgarian Navy, the Ministry said.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Varna Regional Directorate of the Interior Ministry reported that parts of a crashed drone had been found in the area of Kabakum Beach near Varna. The alert was received at around 1:30 a.m., and Border Police officers were dispatched to the scene.

On Tuesday, the Defence Ministry reported that an electric reconnaissance drone posing no danger had been found in the Black Sea waters between the town of Tsarevo and the village of Varvara, Southeastern Bulgaria. A specialised team was deployed at the request of the regional governor of Burgas and following an order from the Chief of Defence.
