Sean challenges this from his experience leading independent hotels and says that AI and smart tech adoption can bridge the gap. Tools like revenue management software (he used IDeaS) automate time-intensive tasks, driving ADR and profitability while freeing up staff to focus on providing better guest experiences.

However, the opportunities aren’t limited to systems like RMSs. Sean shared how ChatGPT has become his "intelligent assistant," enabling quicker market analysis and smarter decision-making. For instance, he uses it to analyze local competition and refine menu concepts.
